Black Sam Rackham

Black Sam Rackham was Boatswain of the Renown before the mutiny and opted to continue in that role afterwards rather than accept a commission.

Affable and mild mannered, one would never realise that he came to sea to escape the vengeance of the Thieves' Guild, of whom he had been a member! It was during that part of his life that he developed an over-liking for strong drink.
